Shooting Stars SC 0–0 Kwara United

We were held to a goalless draw by Kwara United in a tightly contested Nigeria Premier Football League encounter at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba.


First Half

We started brightly and looked the more threatening side in the early stages. Kwara United picked up the first booking of the game in the 6th minute, before Lucky Emmanuel tested from long range a minute later, but his effort went off target.

We continued to push forward in search of an opener. In the 11th minute, Sodiq Ibrahim found Ayodele Ismail, but the forward failed to hit the target. Two minutes later, we won a free kick after a foul on Jamiu as we maintained attacking pressure.

Lucky Emmanuel remained lively, first forcing a routine save in the 19th minute before missing the target again in the 23rd minute. Stephen Amos also tried his luck from distance in the 31st minute, but his effort went wide. A minute later, Ayobami Junior came close, only to see his shot saved by the goalkeeper.

Despite our dominance, both sides went into the break goalless after two minutes of added time.

Second Half

The second half resumed with renewed intensity, and we nearly took the lead in the 47th minute when Ayobami Junior found Lucky Emmanuel, whose effort struck the post.

We continued to search for a breakthrough, but Kwara United remained resolute defensively.

In the 59th minute, we made our first change, with Qamar Adegoke replacing Ayodele Ismail. Stephen Amos was shown a yellow card shortly after, before further substitutions followed in the 67th minute as Adams Mustapha and Namapele James came on for Tijani Kabir and Lucky Emmanuel.


Decisive Moments

We kept pushing late into the game, with Adams Mustapha trying from a free kick in the 77th minute, but his effort failed to trouble the goalkeeper.

Five minutes of added time were indicated, and we made another change as Adelowo Gbolagade replaced Desmond Ojietefian in the 90+2 minute.

We had one final chance in the 90+4 minute when Tijani Al-Ameen tested the goalkeeper, but his shot was saved.

Full-Time

Moments later, the referee blew the final whistle as both sides settled for a share of the spoils.

It was a determined performance from us, as we created several chances but could not find the breakthrough, settling for a point at home.

Attention now shifts to Matchday 35, as we travel to Maiduguri to face El-Kanemi Warriors in another Nigeria Premier Football League encounter.
