Shooting Stars SC 3–2 Wikki Tourists

A late winner capped a remarkable comeback as we defeated Wikki Tourists 3–2 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba. We showed determination and attacking intent, scoring a late winner to claim all three points in front of our home supporters.

First Half

We started the match brightly and created the first opportunity in the 1st minute, when Sodiq Ibrahim met a cross but his header went wide. Two minutes later, the forward attempted an overhead kick, but his effort again drifted off target.

We continued to push forward and in the 10th minute, Sodiq tried to pick out Lucky Emmanuel, but the move was halted for offside. The pressure continued as Ayobami Junior had a shot blocked in the 15th minute.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 16th minute when Sodiq Ibrahim found the back of the net to put us ahead. Shortly after, Gali Falke produced a good defensive tackle in the 20th minute to stop a Wikki attack.

Lucky Emmanuel nearly doubled our lead in the 25th minute, but his effort missed the target. Two minutes later, his shot was blocked by a defender for a corner.

Wikki Tourists responded and equalised in the 35th minute, bringing the score to 1–1. We made a change in the 40th minute, with Adelowo Gbolagade replacing Desmond Ojietefian.

Just before halftime, we regained the lead. In the 44th minute, Lucky Emmanuel finished well to restore our advantage. The referee then brought the first half to a close after added time with us leading 2–1.

Second Half

At the start of the second half, Justice Apaingolo came on for Tijani Kabir as play resumed.

Wikki Tourists received a yellow card in the 47th minute for a foul on Lucky Emmanuel. The visitors pushed forward and eventually equalised in the 53rd minute, making it 2–2.

We made further changes as the game progressed. In the 65th minute, Qamar Adegoke replaced Ayodele Ismail. Two minutes later, Gali Falke went down injured and required medical attention.

In the 72nd minute, Adebayo Abayomi and Adams Mustapha were introduced for Sodiq Ibrahim and Gali Falke. The substitutions quickly influenced the attack. In the 73rd minute, Adams saw his shot blocked before Qamar Adegoke’s follow-up was saved by the goalkeeper.

At the other end, Godgift produced an important save in the 76th minute to keep the score level. We continued to search for a winner and Lucky Emmanuel had another opportunity in the 83rd minute, but his effort missed the target.


Decisive Moment

The decisive moment came in the 88th minute. Ayobami Junior delivered a corner that was met by Tijani Al-Ameen, who headed home to give us a 3–2 lead.

Five minutes of added time were indicated, but we held firm defensively until the referee blew the final whistle.


Full-Time

It was a spirited and determined display from us, showing resilience and attacking quality to emerge victorious in a thrilling contest and secure all three points at home.

Attention now turns to Matchday 31, as we head on the road to face Katsina United in another exciting Nigeria Premier Football League encounter.
