When you speak of Nigerian football, one name echoes through the decades with pride and reverence, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC). Known to fans worldwide as the Oluyole Warriors, our story is one of triumphs, legends, resilience, and unbroken passion that continues to inspire generations.
Founded in the 1950s as Western Nigeria Development Company (WNDC) Ibadan, the club was built not just to play football, but to unite a people. Quickly, we became a symbol of identity and pride for Ibadan and the entire Southwest. From those early days, Shooting Stars SC established itself as a team destined for greatness.

The Oluyole Warriors etched their name in history as the first Nigerian club to win an African continental trophy, a groundbreaking achievement that set the standard for others to follow. Alongside our league titles and FA Cup triumphs, this milestone remains a testament to the spirit and determination that defines 3SC.
Our legacy has always been carried on the shoulders of great players. From the artistry of Segun “Mathematical” Odegbami to the goalscoring heroics of Rashidi Yekini, from the safe hands of Best Ogedegbe to the commanding leadership of Taiwo Ogunjobi, and the midfield brilliance of Felix Owolabi, Shooting Stars has been home to some of Nigeria’s most iconic footballers.
The 1990s brought a new generation of stars, Duke Udi, Ike Shorunmu, Ajibade Babalade, Mutiu Adepoju, and Gbenga Okunowo, who rose through our ranks before making history at FC Barcelona. Each of them not only wore our badge with pride but also carried our spirit onto global stages.
Like every great club, we’ve had our share of challenges, promotions and relegations, financial battles, and restructuring phases. But through it all, one thing has never wavered: the passion of our fans. The Pride of Ibadan has always stood tall, fueled by the loyalty of supporters who sing our name no matter the circumstances.
From the pioneers of the 70s to the icons of the 90s and the stars of today, the Shooting Stars story is one of continuity. We are more than a football club; we are a movement, a heritage, and a dream that transcends generations.
As we look forward, our mission is not only to reclaim past glory but to build a stronger, modern, and globally respected football institution. The Oluyole Warriors’ legacy lives on, in every kick, every chant, and every dream carried by the Pride of Ibadan.
We are Shooting Stars SC. We are history in motion.
